Sparkling image icon Expect efficiency in all your jobs Fast printing of documents around 8 pages per minute in black and 4 colors makes light work of all your prints. PIXMA Cloud Link lets you scan as email or print directly from apps like Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket, Twitter, Dropbox and Evernote.
The front is very deep, reducing the overall trace when the machine is open for printing. Unusual for Canon printers, the paper feeds paper from a tray on the back, which can hold up to 60 sheets, and feeds into the telescopic output tray on the front. No front cover machine. Having this straight paper path makes printing easier on the card, as there is no need to change the 180 degree media present in the front-loading printer. Above, the simple A4 scanner does not have an Automatic Document Feeder you do not expect at this price and on the left is a very simple control panel, with physical buttons and pinhead LEDs.
Canon PIXMA MG2965 use twin cartridges, one black and other trif slots, from the front, after you flip the panel behind the output tray. They are not easy to get and you need to push the cartridge up to click into place, which is a bit fiddly.
Cartridge is available in two capacities, although the XL version also has a maximum 400 pages of black pages and 300 colors.
Connections via USB or wireless links and Wi-Fi connections are easy to set up, with just a few push buttons, one in the printer and the other on your router. The software is a regular bundle of quality Canon applications, including My Image Garden and Easy-WebPrint.
Canon PIXMA 2965 rate colors 8ppm black and 4ppm and in our tests we are pretty close. Our five-page mono text print finishes in 47 seconds, giving a print speed of 6.4 ppm, but this increases to 6.7 ppm on a 20 page print. There is no duplex facility on the machine, unless you rotate the paper by hand.
Here are some other important things this printer can not do. Unable to print borderless photos, including 15 x 10cm empty photos, and can not be printed on A4 photo paper, with or without borders. Photo printing is quite possible for entry-level all-in-one, so this is a very important drawback.
Five-page mono text and color graphics tests yield only 1.6 ppm, less than half the specified speed. Photo size 15 x 10cm, take 2: 8 photos with the best quality, printed from PC and 48an with standard quality from Android smartphone.
While this speed is not amazing, it is not at all bad for a printer with this price. However, the machine is very noisy for relatively slow devices and peaked at 76dBA at 0.5 m, while giving paper paper.
The print quality of the machine is not what we expect from Canon. Black text is foggy, with little ink spread and poor registration from head to next. Color filling business graphics is fine, but the reverse text shows a black background splitting. The photos are well reproduced, with natural colors and smooth transitions.
